1. Millimetres (mm): Bag & Roll Dimensions
Millimetres describe physical size. Freezer bags list width × length: 200×250mm is 200mm wide at the opening by 250mm long; 250×300mm and 300×380mm scale up. Measure your current bag opening (width) and top-to-bottom (length) and match. Thermal paper uses width × diameter: 57×38mm is 57mm wide paper on a 38mm-diameter roll; 80×80mm is wider with a bigger roll. Width must match the printer; diameter must fit inside it. 2. Microns (mic): Thickness
A micron is one-thousandth of a millimetre — higher means thicker. MRA meat film is 15mic: thin, clingy, right for tray wrapping. Tray liners at 660×660mm – 500pcs are 17 micron for puncture resistance with bone-in product. Thicker is not always better: thicker film costs more per metre and can fog displays; match thickness to the job (display vs bulk lining vs waste). See Liner Bags.
Spec-Reading Rule
Size (mm) decides fit, microns decide strength, PCS/CTN decides how long a carton lasts. Check all three before comparing prices — a cheaper carton with half the pieces is rarely cheaper.
